A busy streaming night separates service faults from Wi-Fi faults
Release-day searches can coincide with buffering complaints, but buying new hardware only makes sense when speed is healthy beside the router and falls away in particular rooms. That is the problem a mesh system can address.
Test beside the router first
If the stream fails on every device beside the gateway, check the platform and broadband service before shopping for mesh.
Backhaul protects the distant room
Ethernet is most predictable; wireless backhaul depends on walls, distance, node placement and available bands.
Two nodes may be enough
A compact flat or terrace can perform worse with an unnecessary third node placed too close to the others.
